Vince with camera

Eric Raingruber started making short films on a silent 8mm Bell & Howell camera at 11 years of age. Following college, he opened a film studio, which paid the bills by servicing marketing clients in his hometown of Modesto, California.

Thanks to some early successes in the conservation and safety fields, Raingruber spent 15 years directing animated shorts and PSAs starring talking animals. This work was both profitable and fun but seemed to constantly prevent him from producing the more story-driven works that inspired opening a studio in the first place.

Since closing the company in 2013, he has been delighted to focus on storytelling.

While normally working with a small team of animators on past projects, Catching the L Train is Raingruber’s first solo animated production.
